- Physical Connection:
- Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into a power outlet.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the router’s LAN port and the other end to your computer’s LAN port. You can also connect via Wi-Fi if you prefer.
- Connect the fiber optic cable from your BSNL connection to the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) if applicable.
- Accessing the Router’s Web Interface:
- Open a web browser on your computer.
- Enter the router’s IP address in the address bar. The default IP address is often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.
- You can find the default IP address on the back of your router or in the router’s documentation.
- Login:
- Enter the default username and password (also usually found on the back of the router) to log in to the router’s configuration page.
- Configuring Internet Connection:
- Navigate to the “Network” or “WAN” settings section within the router’s interface.
- Select the appropriate connection type (usually PPPoE for BSNL).
- Enter the username and password provided by BSNL for your internet connection.
- If required, enter the VLAN ID provided by BSNL.
- Enable NAT (Network Address Translation) if needed to allow multiple devices to connect to the internet using a single public IP address.
- Configuring Wi-Fi (Optional):
- Navigate to the “Wireless” or “Wi-Fi” settings section.
- Choose a Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Select the appropriate security protocol (e.g., WPA2/WPA3).
- Saving and Applying Settings:
- Save the configuration changes you’ve made.
- Apply the settings to activate them.
- Testing the Connection:
- Open a web browser to verify that you can access the internet.
- You may need to restart the router for the changes to take effect.
